An embryonic classical piece.

Okay, you asked for it! ;-)

https://app.box.com/s/pljrq6kcon2oaai5jhj9

This is "le Roi de Thule" as sung by Margherite from the opera Faust by Berlioz.
It's a kind of lullaby. The flute emulates the sung line.

Lots wrong with the four cellos.
Regards,
John.

Re: Another classical piece.

Hi Mike, It won't be, can't be "soon"! I'll finish this piece then work out how I can cut it down to 4 minutes. That's the limit for inclusion on the Garritan Christmas CD, which is what I'm aiming for. I've worked out how I can remove about 20 measures from the string and flute parts and ...

Re: Another classical piece.

Sounds good. Also sounds like it would be hard to do. Thanks Wally, Well, it depends what you mean by "hard". Hard, in the sense of difficult, no. Hard, in the sense of knowing what to do, yes, initially, but I believe virtually anybody can do it, it's whether they're prepared to spend th...

Re: Another classical piece.

Thanks for your comments and listening to my classical pieces. Here's the latest rendering having moved on a bit from the original 'primitive' rendering. Still incomplete but, now starting to sound the way I want it. https://app.box.com/s/ti0qlphbobuwso4akf37 The early version 'is no more'. Regards,...

Re: Another classical piece.

Thanks Craig, In the cold clear light of dawn I realise I've got the oboes far too far forward in the mix. Actually it's from three Garritan sample libraries, GPO4, COMB and CPO (the organ library), bought gradually over the years. I'm having a break away from it today as I worked myself to a stands...

Another classical piece.

Howdy all, Thought I'd treat(?) you to another piece of classical music. https://app.box.com/s/q193yjpy559xrccyu3me All my own work as usual. This one is very much work in progress and this was my first rendering. I use Gary Garritan's GPO4 (Garritan Personal Orchestra) virtual instrument sample lib...

Re: Musikmesse 2013: The Yamaha MX61 is a 61 key synthesizer

He said, toward the end, that you could use it on a train! So it runs off batteries too? ??? Extra weight of installed C size batteries takes the weight up to 23 kilos! ??? I wonder what the music production software is they've included. XGworks ST updated? ... Ah no. I see it, Cubase AI. Don't you ...

Re: I Just fall in Love Again

Hi Eileen, What a lovely song this is, and extremely well interpreted if I may say so. I have a wonderful recording of Karen Carpenter singing it, and your rendering almost exactly matches that. You can probably imagine her dark contralto voice singing it. What a loss it was to us all when she died,...

It's not so much the gig bag, it's the bus load of roadies needed to carry it in to the gig!

Re: Photo Of The Week

   That's a telephone exchange with a couple of midi controller keyboards isn't it  It certainly looks like it doesn't it? Only that one isn't going to produce any sound no matter how hard you hit the keys. It ain't wired up. VCO to VCF to VCA etc. It was quite challenging gett...

Looks a bit simple to me, I'd much prefer one of these:
