Perhaps Love

This can be classed as a weepie. Perhaps Love is a song written by John Denver and recorded as a duet with Placido Domingo, the Spanish Tenor in 1981. It was addressed to his wife while separated and moving towards a divorce. After John's death in 1997 in a plane crash, his wife, Annie, said this wa...

Re: One moment in time.

Thanks for that Den. I cannot access Audio.com any more using my IPad as it is non compatible with the latest version of Audio. So, all interaction has to be done via Windows and my laptop. I avoid this as much as possible due to the poor performance of my ageing laptop. Buying a new iPad is the ans...

One moment in time.

This was recorded by Whitney Houston. My arrangement is slightly shorter than the original recording but is as accurate as I could manage to the original musical score. I found this a very difficult piece to play as it was written in C maj then transposed via Ab to Db. I did not use the transpose fu...

Re: Which part of your keyboard do you use?

I use a twin keyboard setup which enables me to play a melody with my right hand anywhere on the keyboard. So, I do not have any octave problems from having a conventional set split point.

Re: Most countries don't use ABCDEFG for note names

As is obvious from your comments Hugh, you agree that sol-fa system is used by non reading singers. I feel sure that opera singers will not do so. However, as I already stated modern musicians are taught to read conventional musical notation. Regarding the Beatles, they were musical morons at the st...

Re: Most countries don't use ABCDEFG for note names

Must disagree Hugh. Completely out of context with reference to keyboard playing. It is so obvious this was invented to aid singing in mediaeval times when the majority were illiterate and uneducated. Julie Andrews used this for her well known song in the movie The Sound of Music. Reading convention...

Re: A suggestion for Inclusion in 2024

Doubt if this is a good idea. I usually find that listening to some musical posts these days, I am reduced to tears.

Re: Thing called Love - Johnny Cash 1974

Brian, tunes were supposed to be from 1980 onwards, but it does not really matter.

Nessun Dorma

I recorded this piece this morning using Freestyle. It is from the opera Turandot composed by Puccini. It was recorded by Pavarotti and was used as the theme song of the BBC's television coverage of the 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy.

Wind beneath my wings

This ballad was composed in 1982 and first released as a single in 1989 by Bette Middler.
There was no available Yamaha style for this, so my style had to be adlibbed.

Re: Deafness and Hearing Aids.

I was found to have lost the ability to hear the higher end of the frequency spectrum and the improvement when wearing my aids is utterly remarkable. Playing ...

Walking In The Air This was recorded by Aled Jones and was written in 1982 for an animated film called The Snowman .
