Re: SMFs from Music Room (Challenge) for download

Brian, Is this how you normally record? Record first to MIDI and then record to Audio from that. Or do you record directly to MP3 (Audio). And if you have only recorded to MP3 can you then go back and generate a Midi File for that song? Presumably not without recording the piece again. With my AR or...

Hi Peter,

A very moving video, both with the words and the music. Love the yellow roses you had in the video. Were these pictures you took? You are very talented to be able to put something like that together.

Re: Happy Xmas - War Is Over

Hi Peter,

Very smoothly played. It's not often we hear you playing something 'straight' ie. not using a Style. I do like that bass you are playing on the pedals. An 'automatic' bass from a Style does not always play the notes you want to hear. A very pleasant listen.

Re: Walking in the Air

Hi Les, That is one of the best recordings of this song that I have heard! Your selection of voices and how you have brought them in at different points along the way was just perfect to my mind. And you kept the song 'moving'. This is a song that can 'drag' very easily, but it didn't do that in you...

Re: O Come All Ye Faithful

Hi Dave,

That's an old favourite, and you have played it in a 'traditional' way, which is great. Loved the 'straight organ' playing at the end. As John said, could have done with another verse of that!

Re: Have yourself a merry little Christmas

John .. Well, not really! All I did was to 'fade' the ending out right at the end so it didn't 'cut off' suddenly. I think Terry was referring to the 'ending' done automatically by the STYLE. With 'intros' and 'Endings' of STYLES I often don't think we take enough notice of what is being played. And...

Re: Have yourself a merry little Christmas

John had problems with his piece, but we think we have sorted it now. So go back to John's original post and click those LINKS again. We st...

Hi Peter, What a wonderful 'Christmas Bells' sound you have got with this one! Love that arpeggio in the backing which goes so well with the voice you have chosen. Hi Charles,

What always amazes me is that you are playing every note that we can hear. No 'automatic backing' being used. And I know too that you are not playing this from any 'written music' in front of you, and you are doing it all 'by ear'. You amaze me!

Hi Tom, I too have an organ (the Yamaha AR80) which I play 'keyboard style'.
