Re: The Cavendish Collection: Hertfordshire Organ Studios

Cheers for that Mike

As you say I certainly wouldn't mind my share of the loot.

I liked Andrew's comment about Lyon & Hall going up in smoke, and Southern Organs going up in a helicopter.-- at least we had style! lol.

Re: Identi-Pic Game 35

Hi Andrew There is a rather funny story that Mike and I can tell you and all about one of our encounters with Phil Baldwin, who I know from his days at Lyon and Hall in Brighton. Ask Mike about the time he was doing the first write up in Home Organist on Hertfordshire Organs. To give him a clue ment...

Re: Kentucky Electronic Organs

Hi all Yes I remember the Challenger, Explorer and the Adventurer, but cannot recall seeing nor hearing anything about the Petit. I do remember Jackie Brown though, and his hatred the Kentucky. He said all they did to make the bigger ones was to add more bad sounds..... Well that's the more polite v...

Re: Remembering UK's First Electronic Organ Laboratory

Yes Mike that was before my time at Southern Organs, but the system was still in existence and very widely used when I was there. Unfortunately I don't recognise any of the faces there except of course it is Jackie Brown who was taking the class. The recording studio never got off the ground though,...

I most certainly do remember you playing it in Southwick. Jackie and I thought you were trying to wear it out so you could buy it cheaper!

Who Remembers The Omnichord

Does anyone remember the instrument on which it was somehow impossible to play a wrong note? http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii535/mike_clarke1/e8eea21a.jpg The Suzuki Omnichord These unusual little instruments started their commercial life back in 1981 when Suzuki released its first incarnatio...

That background noise reminds me of the time when I was gigging in Working Mens Clubs. Provided they could hear themselves shouting over the top of you you were playing ok. That organ certainly does sound good though doesnt it. I would like to hear it really put through its paces sometime./ Vince
