Re: I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas

Hi Val, A Christmas 'standard'. Nice bit of playing on your organ. The Christmas 'bells' at the end were a pleasant surprise. Living in East Africa until I was 17 years old we all imagined Christmas in the snow was the norm in UK, so it was a bit of a shock when I came over and found out that a Chri...

Re: O Come All Ye Faithful

Hi Don,

I have always liked this carol. An old faithful. I can see (hear) you playing this in your church. I wonder if your church organ sounds as 'grand' as this rendition from the AR?

Re: Blue-Christmas.

Hi Jon, Another number with that lovely 'bounce' to it. I don't reckon you could live without your expression pedal! Another thing I have noticed with your pieces. You see so many people playing keyboard on YouTube press a button for the Intro or Ending and then just sit back and let the machine do ...

Re: Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire

Hi Michael,

Enjoyed that. I had no idea that the Tyros 5 did vibrato by shaking one's finger from left to right, which seems to be what you are doing. Is that correct?

Re: Fairytale In New York

Hi Peter, I must confess that I am not one of those 45 million people who have watched the original video by the Pogues. This is the first time I have heard it. Very well played by you though, despite the lights. I see your tablet over your Korg has those ultra thin modern screens that enable you to...

Re: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen - Modern Version

Brian,

That's a very 'upbeat' number of that Christmas Carol. Maybe not so 'restful' for the Merry Gentlemen!

You say a couple of extra tracks were added later and mixed in Audacity. That's an interesting thought. Must try it.

Re: Mary's Boy Child

Hi Terry, What a great sound! The Church Organ; then the Choir .. followed by a Full Choir .. organ in the background. Away In A Manger

Away In A Manger The standard melody in England is "Cradle Song", and the tune was written by the American composer William J. Kirkpatrick in 1895. I have recorded this in 'two takes'. I can record the Lower and Upper (and Pedals if need be) separately on my AR organ. First time round, on...

Re: Santa baby.

Hi George,

Love that 'muted trumpet' sound. A very pleasant piece to listen to. This must have been played on your Tyros 5. Doesn't seem to matter what instrument you play your pieces on, you always come up with something great to listen to. I think the player has a lot to do with it.

Hi Don, I have always found the melody of this song 'haunting'. Aled Jones became famous for the cover version of "Walking in the Air", the song from Channel 4's animated film The Snowman , based on the book by Raymond Briggs. The record reached No. 5 in the UK charts in 1985. The version ...

Calypso Carol

I first heard this done with this rhythm at the school where I worked (many years ago). It was the rhythm that ...
