Re: Pianos

Here is a recording I have done on my AR using the 'piano' voice. I'm very happy with how this sounds, but I am just playing single notes, so can hold a note down and let it fade away naturally, or lift my finger off the note which stops it sounding immediately, as in a real piano. Another effect I ...

Re: Pianos

Brian, There wasn't a lot of difference in the sound of those pianos and I would be happy with any of them. But to me, the most important part of playing a piano is having a 'loud' pedal, as I used to call it. From Wikipedia: A sustain pedal or sustaining pedal (also called damper pedal, loud pedal,...

Re: Mountains, Own Composition

Hi Pete, Thanks for clarifying that. You really have looked into how these things should be done. I congratulate you on your ingenuity in finding a means of accomplishing what you wanted to do. I have looked at the notes you had put under your video: This is my first composition played on the S770. ...

Re: Dreaming, Own Composition

Hi Pete, I always end up the same when I try to compose something of my own .. something that is neither here nor there as I never know what to play. Brian(007)'s idea was to start with a series of chords and create a melody round them. How did you come to do this one? I suppose it's like the chicke...

Re: Easy Walking - Own Composition

Brian,

That is just amazing! Love those little melodies you have created. And the voices you have dug out of your Korg are amazing too and really make the piece. How much do you charge for pop stars to hire your talents?

Re: Hints for when browsing the TDP Forum

You will have noticed that Brian and I have re-organised the Forum and created several new Boards. In particular, the Boards in the Music Room . The reason for this is twofold. 1. If you want to find and listen to a particular genre of music, then a dedicated Board will make it easier to find. If I ...

Re: Sun and Sea

Brian,

I think you have named your song wrongly. You start your song with the minor key (that is the sea); then go into the major key (which is the sun).

So it should be named Sea and Sun. :?: :?: :?:

Re: Sun and Sea

Brian, That was very good! Enjoyed that! And it sounded very original. Usually when somebody composes a tune there are always bits of it that remind you of a song somebody else has done. But not in your case. I had thought that one would compose the melody first and then put some suitable chords to ...
