You had some interesting (unusual?) harmonies in there. As you read the music, these must be what is written. Who was this 'arrangement' by? Can you send me the dots?
My explanation on how to get an image into an audio.com file (above) has been completely rewritten. I had had a problem getting a SQUARE showing and getting the WHOLE of my picture into the Edit rectangle .. but this has now been sorted.
Note: Every time I get a Windows Update my recording option is re-set to MONO , so I have to go back to the instructions above and change it back to 2 Channel, 16 bit 44100 Hz (CD Quality) . When I do this I have to have the BEHRINGER UCA 202 Audio Interface plugged into a USB Port (it shows it's '...
How to get a 'square' image put into your audio.com music file. First, find the music track you want to put the square image into. Click on the three little dots (far right) and Edit appears in the drop-down box. Click on that. http://www.ar-group.org/Files/AudioCom3.jpg In Edit Audio , the 'square'...
Putting pictures into my audio.com tracks was not as simple as I thought it would be. Got tied up in knots and couldn't seem to get the part of the picture I wanted 'as a square'. Suggestions please. Hugh PS. I sorted the problem I had, which was not getting a dotted square , and not getting the who...
Den, I reckon that you, like me, would expect something you have bought to work until the device itself is no longer serviceable ie. the components in it like capacitors, or maybe soldered joints have broken down. This is certainly true of my AR80 organ which is still functioning perfectly after 25 ...
In the topic Embedding AUDIO.COM music into the Forum we were talking about Jon D not being able to see audio.com music tracks with his AppleMac computer. And he can't see the ones embedded into the Forum either. After I had put some embedded ones in (hoping) he said: Hello there Hugh it will still ...
Ken, You started all this! Just hang on in there! I agree with you about the 'vocals'. I was not expecting that in a program about the 'piano'. When the pianist doesn't have to play the melody they just have to provide a 'backing' to the singing .. which can be none too clever. I have also noticed t...
JT, You ask: I'm wondering if there is some advantage in using Audio.com. I think Box.com is pretty good. Loads of advantages! For starters. what do you mean by, "I think Box.com is pretty good". Good for what? Letting you listen to the audio? Both platforms do the same. With audio.com you...
What I find interesting is the concept that there is a 'right' and a 'wrong' way to play something. Anything we play has to be an 'arrangement' done by somebody . I once knew a music teacher who invited me to go and listen to him playing in a pub. Not once for the whole evening did he have any 'musi...
Have watched Part 3 .. same LINK as I used for watching the 'catch-up' program, but this time had an option to watch it 'live' ie. I watched it on my laptop (with headphones on), not on the television. That was more like it! Had some amazing pianists this time (must be something to do with the Scots...
An initial topic explaining what audio.com was all about and how it is connected with Audacity is already up in the Forum (LINK below). There are also instructions in that topic on how to join, and how to get your music uploaded into this new 'cloud'. Do a right-click to open this up in a New Tab. h...
Another observation, which, if you haven't thought about it, I would like to draw your attention to. Do we need a 'left hand voice'? When I played my organs (I first had a Farfisa Balmoral, and followed that with a Yamaha AR80 .. which I still have) there was no question of not having a 'left hand v...
Ron, I think most of us play by following the dots on the lines and the chord symbols over the top. You, like me, having played in a band don't need to look up (or work out) the 'structure' of a chord. But as for playing the right sounding chord? When I listen to 'jazz' versions of a song I can't re...
JT, I have had a look at this site. Not impressed by the search box. It came up with hundreds of suggestions, none of which were the song I had typed in. Even when I typed in one of the songs they listed, that didn't come up in the top slot. If you do find a song you are looking for, it's great for ...
Ken, I have watched Part 2 now. Did you watch it? Not sure what to make of any of it. I'm not 'into' classical music (Chopin) so wouldn't know how well those pieces were played, or if they followed the work of the original composer. As for the others, when people put their own interpretation of note...
Comments on playing organs/pianos/keyboards Do you play an organ, a piano or a keyboard? Didn't get this question quite right! So don't say, "Yes!". I wasn't asking if you play an organ, a piano or a keyboard .. I was asking which of these you play! I am hoping in this topic to discuss so...
25/02/2023. I have updated this topic re: the Major 7th chord . When I started off in my 'teens it was called the 'natural 7th chord'. This is the chord formed by including the 7th note of the scale eg. Cmaj7 = C E G B (or inversions of same). Not to be confused with C 7th = C E G Bb (or inversions ...
Guitar and Saxophone This guitar and saxophone piece is played by George Turner on the Wersi OAX1. Just listen to the realism of that guitar! It's hard to believe that this is not a real guitar being played! Evergreen Do a right-click to open this up in a New Tab. https://app.box.com/s/nxycfi2jkohy...
And then there is one song that is deliberately sung 'out of tune'. (Must be very difficult to do that!) Desafinado - Slightly out of tune If you tell me I sing out of tune my love You should know it hurts me to the core, my love It’s just the very lucky few that have an ear like yours I have only w...
Further comments on PLAYLISTS . What is a PLAYLIST? It is like a FOLDER in an office filing system (or on a computer) ie. in the folder you would expect to find items with a common thread. When I go to my YouTube Channel page I see these 'tabs' at the top. The VIDEOS one lists all my uploads, includ...
Ken, I too thought the lady with the pink hair was the best pianist. When I hear music I like to hear 'harmony', and she ticked all the boxes for me. Not so keen on Harry, the 92 year old. His 'jazzy' chords weren't doing anything for me. Lang Lang was the one professional we got a taste of. Technic...
Ken, Thank you for posting that. From a Google Search it appears that one can watch Channel 4 as 'catch-up' on a laptop. To get the quality I shall listen with headphones rather than the laptop's 'tinny' speakers. This is the LINK to where the program actually is: Do a right-click to open this up in...
Ron, Your setup is like playing an organ. Two separate sets of keys with a different Voice on each .. so jump down/up from one to the other. Back to my 'out of tune' piano in R3. So you can hear what I heard, click the DEMO of this, below. Ambient Piano in R2 and 'out of tune' Ambient Piano in R3 (r...
Thought I would play something on my Tyros 4 with the keyboard split for R3 . It is definitely more difficult to 'jump across' from one voice to another on a keyboard whilst playing a song. With the AR80 organ one voice is directly below the other (one on the Upper manual, the other on the Lower man...
Saxophone Don Wherly has played this on his AR80 organ. They say that the voices on these older organs are not up to much, but you could have fooled me! I can't find a Saxophone on my Tyros 4 that sounds anything like as good as this one. Just listen to the breathiness of those lower notes. And of ...
JT, Here is another version, in F. This was in a book JohnT had. The PDF should show below. If not, 'refresh' the page (maybe a couple of times). Different chord structure to the D version above. http://www.ar-group.org/Files/ValiantBe.pdf Or, click this direct LINK to the music. Do a right-click to...
JT, Loved the harmonies in this, and the sound you had. The video was quite a challenge as in one section of the video I wanted to replace the 'black areas' on either side of the 'portrait' clip of the person walking down the boardwalk with coloured 'autumn leaves'. You can read how I did this here:...
