Re: What would a real BASS player play when accompanying you

As we have already discussed this Hugh, I think it is only fair to state for the sake of the unbelievers that these notes are not written to be played by a bass player. These are the notes required to setup the Multipad function where everything is based on the scale of Cmaj7. I for one, cannot get ...

Re: What would a real BASS player play when accompanying you

Hugh, The bass notation below in the screen shot is incorrect. http://www.ar-group.org/Files/MichaelRowBASS2B.jpg The lowest note on the bass is E below middle C. So the notes in your demo should not be written as they are. This would seem to be a product of the Yamaha Tyros “ Score “ function. It o...

Painting by numbers

This is a small selection of my handiwork which keeps me busy when not playing my T3. You should note that they are not painted in the normal artistic manner and are known as “Paint by Numbers”. The outline of the subject is computer generated and printed onto canvas in a multiple series of small nu...

Hugh, I shared an Audio.com link to my FACEBOOK page. To do this the one you want is Copy Link . Below is a screen shot of how this looks on my Facebook Page. On clicking the text, I was redirected to the song on my Audio.com page and was able to play the tune by clicking the Play arrow. I would sus...

Another enlightening article Hugh. I had noticed these 2 magic buttons, but never ever tried using them. Could be used to great effect depending on the tune being played.

Re: How to Normalize & Fade Out a recording using Audacity

Great pity Hugh that your tutorials were not around when I had just started doing my very early recordings. Would have made life much easier. However, I learned by trial and error. Just need now to try and make my recordings much more universally pleasing

Re: What do THEY know about TALENT? Tony Stace & Andrew Nix.

The judges on this TV show are just a bunch of self opiniated, big headed celebrity naffs. However, I must side with their verdict. Those 2 organists did not shine mainly due to the choice of music they tried to perform. It was an outdated sound being played in a modern environment and organ sounds ...

Re: Playing the "right" chords

Hi Den, My memory is unusable for playing music. In my younger days when I played in my rock band, we rehearsed new tunes using the standard sheet music, with the key transposed by me to suit the vocalist. All tunes in our repertoire were committed to memory very easily in those days. However, nowad...

Comment from JT ( barwonfan ) I'm wondering if there is some advantage in using Audio.com. I think Box.com is pretty good. Re: Playing the "right" chords

Firstly, I have to thank Hugh for posting the video of Thelonius Monk. He sounds even worse than I remember him. His performance brings back memories of Jimmy Durante who used to do a performance of a person looking for a lost chord on the piano. Not heard this for years. It appears to me that Thelo...

Playing the "right" chords
