Re: Working out the harmony (chords) for a piece of music.

This formula will eventually give you an idea of which chord will fit the melody. However you will be restricted to simple chords in the form of I IV V with a relevant minor. It will not tell you if it needs a diminished chord, maj7 chord, a sus4 chord, a b5 chord , a 9th chord, 13th chord, etc, etc...

Re: Making adjustments to a STYLE

Hugh
Another fine article. I have often thought of improving styles or even making new ones for a tune where no style is available.
However, life is too short unfortunately.

Re: Digital sheet music to read from rather than 'paper' mus

Fred

This goes back to my years of exceedingly slow broadband 1.4 Mbps which made downloading sometimes impossible. I now have 300 Mbps but still stick to my original plan. It is very simple to do.

Digital sheet music to read from rather than 'paper' music.

Digital sheet music to read from rather than the 'paper' version. I don't know how many members on the TDP Forum use music for playing, but I have found that my setup really simplifies using music for playing on the Tyros. I use my iPad almost exclusively for displaying printed music sheets unless ...

Re: Bringing music closer on Tyros

I too use a tablet (iPad) to store my music and need the 'dots' in front of me to play anything ! And I too need to bring the iPad closer in order to see the music more clearly. This is what my Tyros 3 setup used to look like when I played from 'paper' music: http://www.ar-group.org/Files/RonsMusic1...

Re: Audacity 3.2.1 & the new 'cloud' for storing music files

You have compiled an excellent series of articles on using Audacity. Everybody should be able to save their recordings here should they decide to leave Box.
These deserve to be included within the instruction manual for Audacity.

Well done, Hugh.

Re: A good video of the Shand Button Accordion

Thanks for the explanation Den, but the Button Box as it is known in Scotland, will always remain a mystery to me.
Brandon is a fine player of this instrument. He smiles while Jimmie Shand never did.

Yes, A minor is the original key. In the mid section it changes briefly into C major and F major. And NO, I do not have perfect pitch so I had to Google the answer .
