Re: Playing Music from the Dots on Lines

Den, This is the first time I have ever seen a really good explanation of 'how to read the dots'. I have never been able to play from the 'dots on lines' and I now know why. It is because I had music lessons (in my early teens) where I was taught the letters of the piano notes, together with some mn...

How to sing overtones (tutorial)

I can't actually her any 'overtones' in this video above. Can you? This is a bit like trying to get 3D pictures to work. You can really concentrate, and you know what should happen .. but it doesn't!

Hi Ernest,

That came over very well. I like the way the Style plays a bass note on every beat of the bar. What Style was this you used? Very busy. I'm worn out now!

Polyphonic Overtone Singing (two notes at the same time)

On most keyboards these days you can record directly to WAV (or MP3) on the keyboard so don't have to use external equipment to do it. Volume levels when recording

Volume levels when recording When you are making a recording it's important that you keep your recording volumes down to a reasonable level. That's a really nice composition. You have some great sounding voices. First that guitar. Sounds real. And your saxophonist deserves a medal. So realistic! I'm sure the player has a lot to do with how these instruments sound.

Re: no particular Place To Go

Hi Ernest, Nice bit of fingerwork there. Really groovy. The word “groovy” originates in jazz slang, referring to music that's swinging, tight, funky, in the pocket. The analogy is to the groove in a vinyl record — the musicians are so together that it's like they're the needle guided by the groove. ...
