When I learn to play something new I like to record it, and this is when this happens. Not just hitting two notes when I should be hitting one, or hitting the wrong note, but also forgetting where I've got to in the song. My average 'take' when recording a song is 15 .. but I have been known to have...
That was just lovely! Enjoyed the music (it's that accordion again) and the video was great. The white flowers with the 'tan' edging were particularly unusual. Never seen flowers like that before. Do you know what they're called?
JT ... Dennis wrote and put together the whole of that promo. I don't always understand what Den says .. it's the way his mind works. So I hope everybody has understood what we are wanting this month. As many Members as possible just to post one song .. and their effort will not be judged. Den ... ...
Ken, Thanks for posting your piece and your story behind it. Beautifully played. And it's always nice to hear something played on an organ, where every note you hear is a note you are playing. When we used to have an organ shop in Weston-super-Mare Jean Martyn came down and did a demonstration on a ...
Brian007 .. Thank you for your comments. I have to say that your playing has been an inspiration to me ever since I joined the Forum. You always pick up those little extras that you can hear in a song and pop them into your music. You always did this by what you called MULTITRACKING. And I don't me...
This is the song that Den is referring to (but kissing a guy, not a girl). I’ll Never Fall In Love Again ~ Dion Warwick fdBwYKBcUWY When the advert appears across the middle of the screen click the white X in the top right hand corner of the advert. Den .. when kissing a girl, the same principle app...
When a Challenge is 'anything you like', you are not aiming to find a piece that fits certain criteria, so the choice of what to put up is limitless. I have pieces recorded on my AR80 and my Tyros 4; classical, foxtrots, latin etc. .. so which one to pick? Maybe something that was so difficult to pl...
You have made this 'own composition' really interesting by basing it on chords (D, Bm and A) rather than a melody .. and then trying to put chords to it. I'm sure this is the best way to create a composition of your own.
Ken, This is what Den's MP3 track looks like in Audacity. http://www.ar-group.org/Files/AudacityOneDay.jpg So no going into the red zone. Listening with my headphones I reckon what you are calling 'distortion' is actually a very fast vibrato applied to the accordion sound. This is the choice of the ...
That's certainly a very unusual rhythm for this carol! Apart from the usual 'choir' versions of this carol I have only found one other version with an equally unusual rhythm.
Our daughter-in-law's Mum and Dad have had this 'singing' Father Christmas since the 1980s. I hadn't realised until watching him this Christmas that the words of all the Christmas music available to play were 'synced' to the mouth movements of the Father Christmas. You can just about lip-read what h...
Interesting! Are you saying that you inserted your mp3 in one key, and it has played in a different (higher) key? I preferred your original key, playing it in A.
Liked the 'rotating cube' transition. Which one is that one?
Jon D, JohnT, Brian007, Kens, Den ... Thank you for your comments. I have read them to Kathryn over the phone and she is thrilled to bits that people are listening to her music. I try to tell her what she is missing out on by not having internet access. There is so much of interest both on this Foru...
Angels from the Realms of Glory - The Piano Guys, Peter Hollens and David Archuleta Over A Thousand People Came Together To Break a Record And Bring This Moving Christmas Hymn To Life. v5mdybeyLVc Comment from under the video: This masterpiece never fails to make me cry, this is my go to song durin...
Nice to hear this with a traditional 3/4 waltz Style. Lovely harmonies in this, and the 'bell' was perfect with the melody. One of your best played pieces, I fancy!
Ken, The only way the AR can record directly within the organ is to a floppy disk. Knowing that a CD holds 700MB, when I bought my organ I just wondered how much of a song you could get on a floppy, which is 1.44MB. And the answer is a whole CDs worth . This is because the floppy is a DATA disk, not...
When I opened the parcel Kathryn sent me there were two CDs in it! So I have put the second one up as well. The LINK specifically to the second CD is below. When you get there, scrolling up will take you to the first CD. Do a right-click to open this up in a New Tab. http://www.ar-group.org/smforum/...
Thanks for the comment Jon D. I have a second CD of hers that I shall be putting up shortly.
I will ring Kathryn and read out your comments to her. With her not having internet access (and she doesn't have a mobile either) I can't even send her an email!
I'm sure many of you are aware that I have a Yamaha AR80 organ and have been running a Forum for AR organs for about 25 years .. the AR Group . It was because of this that Mike Bracchi was happy for me to help with the Admin of his Forum (ie.TDP) when he was running it, and when Mike moved on to run...
That is amazing! A first! Silent Night played in 6/8 time rather than the traditional 3/4 time. What a talent you have to fit this tune to this beat! Have looked on YouTube and nobody else has recorded it like this.
