Re: Brilliant Bb jazz blues comping tutorial

Hi Ron, Being an 'old bass player' (how much emphasis should I put on the 'old'? ) I thought you might like the video below. I know it's not 'keyboard', but it makes me think of you (maybe!). Last night I went to our Playhouse Theatre in Weston-super-Mare to see 'The Story of Guitar Heroes'. ...

Re: Technics KN7000 Peter Hayward

Hi JohnT,

You say you bought your Technics 7000 from Jon D many years ago. Is Jon D in your North East Keyboard club? And looking at the picture of his Profile on TDP .. which is Jon D?

Re: Brilliant Bb jazz blues comping tutorial

Hi Brian, Yes, very good. She made a comment at the beginning about adjusting what you play if you are playing with a bass player. You wouldn't have to play bass notes on the piano as the bass player would be doing that. Of course, if one has an organ then one already has a bass player in one's 'ban...

Re: Technics KN7000 Peter Hayward

BrianD and JohnT, Here's another one by Peter Hayward on the KN 7000. The blurb underneath says: Peter Hayward selects a couple of the onboard musette voices, to perform a popular (1942) accordion piece - "INDIFFERENCE" - by Italian/American musicians, Antonio Murena and Joseph Columbo. nx...

Re: Name That Tune .. put your answers here!

Brian ... I thought you would be the first to get that answer! Can you get something sorted and put up a 'Name That Tune' for us? It's no fun for me to guess the answers to my own postings! I'm sure you can see what I am trying to do here .. keep the answers away from the questions so people can hav...

Name That Tune

I know this has been done before, but let's have another go. Anybody can post a tune (or part of a tune .. giving us all of it will be too easy!) for people to guess. For obvious reasons, don't put any reference to the tune in the file name you are uploading to Box! If you know the answer, don't pos...

Re: Musicmakers club 6/2

Hi John, Perhaps one day I will be on holiday in your area and then I would certainly come along. Three Mondays in the month (and then one Monday off?) .. that is going some! Our club in Weston meets once a month and we never have a Members' night any more, so I have no idea how many members actuall...

Re: Musicmakers club 6/2

Sounds fun! Wish I lived closer so I could come along. When our club in Weston started, we used to have evenings like this. I used to play a Yamaha Keyboard (don't remember which, but to the right of the split the keyboard was monophonic) .. and I had a Casio keyboard that just had 'voices' for me t...

Re: Perfect Pitch, the world's greatest ear

Thanks for this, Brian D. Quite amazing! There is more on 'perfect pitch' in the Performance Board under the topic Rebel Rouser. And a LINK to another YouTube clip of Dylan. Re: me at the Inauguration ball

Hi Paula, You said: I am amazed how folks in all country's watch these events I am always amazed at just how much electronics has advanced over the years that enables us to do this. Do you remember those early keyboards we had? Chords to the left of the split and 'monophonic' to the right of the spl...

Re: me at the Inauguration ball

Paula,

Now that you mention it, I can see that this is a 'live' show. Right at the beginning I can see people standing with mobiles/cameras and taking pictures. I didn't see that first time round. I was concentrating on what you were doing (... and your outfit!).

Re: me at the Inauguration ball

Hi Paula, Loved the way you have played this one. Superb voicing in the backing, and that little bit of 'harmony singing' is just wonderful. I did watch the video of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania dancing, but to be honest .. I prefer your version of My Way . With regard to your comme...

Hi Paula, Only just found this. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to make this video. It certainly looks a wonderful world round where you live. Re: Use of BBCode in Posts containing Youtube Video Links

Of course you can do all this 'by hand' too. Put the cursor just to the right of the ' = ' sign. Delete everything to the left. To the left of what is left, type [youtube] using the keypad (open square bracket; youtube; close square bracket); and [/youtube] (open square bracket; slash; youtube; clos...
