Re: How To Figure Out Chords To Songs

Hi Hugh, I am subscribed to Aimee Nolte's channel. She is very talented. I have not listened to your posting but I have played it before. She does have perfect pitch. For those who don't know what that is, it is the ability to sing a note accurately without any reference point. Relative pitch is the...

Re: See the world

Quite a nice way to spend your retirement if you can afford it.
As an ex merchant navy engineer, I remember when I left I said I would never go on another ship as long as I lived but
I think I would quite enjoy it, for a couple of years anyway. :D :D

Ufology Stanton Friedman

Stan is one of the most credible researchers in this field. It is because of his like that I don't dismiss UFOLOGY out of hand. Edgar Mitchel and Gordon Cooper (both astronauts) are believers as is ex Canadian Defence Minister, Paul Hellyer. Problem is, many frauds and liars make a good living from ...

Re: Brilliant Bb jazz blues comping tutorial

Hi Hugh, The third and seventh are the most important notes as they define the quality of the chord. Major, minor, dominant. examples.( C major chord - 3rd is E, 7th is B ) (C minor chord, - 3rd is Eb, 7th is Bb) C dom 7 chord,- 3rd is E, 7th is Bb.) so long as you include these notes, you can choos...

Re: Perfect Pitch, the world's greatest ear

Hi Hugh, When I did my hypnotherapy training, we were made aware of something in Neuro Linguistic Programming called eye accessing cues. It is to do with the direction your eyes move when you are remembering an image or a sound or constructing an image or sound. An expert is supposed to be able to t...

Re: Some Older Keyboards Still Sound Remarkably Good

I know that if I was in the market for a reasonably priced keyboard, I would look at something like the Orla Gt 8000 Sport Single Manual Organ Keyboard. You get modern sounds plus a pedal board at a fraction of the price of a Tyros. I think if it was possible, it would be nice to rig a stand to have...

Re: Organ and Keyboard Club, Weston-super-Mare

Sadly I don't think there is anything similar in my area.
I checked out your concert programme for 2017 and it looks brilliant.
Although I don't have any trips south of the border arranged this year,
you never know, I may be able to get to one of them.

Carol of the Drum

Although it is a simple melody, it is quite tricky to get the timing right. You may notice a lot of the Phrases end in the middle of the bar. and to keep the timing correct, I have filled the remainder of the bar in with the bass pedals. Count the beats, 1234 1234 etc and you will see what I mean. h...
