Re: Playing harmony 'over the top' ie. higher than the melod

A very interesting article Hugh. To be perfectly honest, until recently I had completely forgotten about the Harmony/Echo button. Someone mentioned it in a post I think and I said “ wonder what that is”. I had to search the keyboard to find it. What a very useful function it is and does away with th...

Re: Do you 'take breaths' when playing wind instruments?

We have discussed this. Hugh and I would make the point that Yamaha have tried very hard in sampling the various instruments to make them sound realistic. That is why I try and make my playing of some instruments sound as realistic as I can. On woodwind or brass instruments this is easily done by ta...

Perfect

Ed Sheeran's "Perfect". Although I liked it when I first heard it, as soon as I started playing it and realised how basic and repetitive the chords were I wasn't too keen on the song .. yet strangely it is growing on me and I now love listening to my playing of it. qUdqS87n-fo When the adv...

Re: Music finder file for Tyros 1 on floppy disk

Update: Problem solved successfully and most likely was due to me not pushing 1 button on the Tyros.

Thanks again to Hugh for all his input on this issue.

Re: Music finder file for Tyros 1 on floppy disk

Hugh kindly mailed me a floppy disk containing the MFD file for the Tyros 1. Unfortunately this did not work and I was unable to replace the current file with the “corrected” file. I am assuming there is possibly a fault with the file or even with the floppy drive. It is now an old machine. If anyon...

Music finder file for Tyros 1 on floppy disk

Hi all I have a friend who still has his original Tyros 1. Unfortunately it has had a system reset and the Music Finder data has reverted to the original look a like titles. Setting up MFC10 foot controller

I do not think there can be many people using the Yamaha MFC10 foot controller and there is already info online on how to set it up. But this might be useful to someone out there. Re: What is your broadband speed?

I have a blistering 1.5 Mbps. Wow! Open reach did lay fibre cable past my house last month. They are only doing this prior to removing my overhead copper telephone cable. But that is now on hold as there have been concerns raised about folk not having any telephone for emergency use when the old lin...

Hi John, Sorry you felt it was beyond you, but you might be surprised at what little jewel of information you could pick up via watching this sort of information. Following on with your comments, I have had another listen via my Bose speaker and I can hear the bass part much better. Glad you like it Hugh. Yes, I suppose most can play by ear but only so far as playing the melody line. I have still to meet the person that can play the chord accompaniment for most tunes by ear. Following this video, I now find myself concentrating on listening to the left hand part of melodies. I ...

“ How you look tonight” is the subject of this YouTube video. It takes you through the simple version right to the full cocktail lounge piano version. Brian, Think The problem is solved. Song Creator seems to be where editing can be done. Editing a recording

Hi All, I find that after a few run throughs, I can play a tune without any wrong notes. However, on pressing the Record button, that all changes and errors start to creep in.
