It has been a few years since I last recorded anything on my T3 and I thought if I have to self isolate for 3 months, then I could attempt to play my T3 again. However, I have completely forgotten how to make a recording on the keyboard. I have Audacity etc still on my laptop but having read Hugh’s ...
The trills are called Grace notes and go by the names of Taorluath, Lemluath, the Grip and the Pinkie Birl. The Tyros is good at what it does , but will never be able to fully copy the true sound of the Highland Bagpipes.
Another of my childhood achievents was to learn to play the bagpipes which takes a fair bit of puff. Playing grace notes is an integral part of a good performance. Listening to a well played jig is a revelation in the use of grace notes. Taorluath, lemluath and pinkie birl all take me back to my ear...
Hi Hugh, I would not be able to play using those videos. I do not play anything by ear as I spent 10 years as a child having weekly lessons on classical piano music. I can still sight read most popular music and being able to read the bass clef also helped me in my bass playing career. I have always...
Saw this posted on my local Freecycle site yesterday. As it was only 2 miles away, I went to have a look. It was in a sheltered housing facility and the owner passed away recently. It was on the point of being dumped in a skip. It is in almost new condition but the thing that caught my attention wer...
Hi Fred, These were the instructions that worked for me but as I did this several years ago my memory is a bit vague. Be assured that it does work very well. My 2nd keyboard is a NP11. My split point is set to provide the whole T3 keys for melody over the whole range while the lower keys are for cho...
I have my T3 midi connected to NP11. This works as 2 individual keyboards with the NP11 working as left hand chords/bass and T3 for melody right hand. I am sure their is "Twinset up" article somewhere on the forum's archives.
Hi again Brian, I just noticed that sharing of My Jukebox ( old recordings) had been blocked. As new members will have been denied access to those early musical fumblings, I have changed to open sharing. Doubt if anything new will be forth coming as my arthritis has now spread to wrists and fingers....
Hi Brian & Hugh, Thanks for the kind thoughts. This was my first visit to the forum in ages and as I said I have not played keyboards or bass in ages. So, I cannot post anything new but will continue to visit from time to time. BTW, the Bb comping tutorial has created some fresh interest for me,...
I really enjoyed that video being an old bass player. It got the juices flowing so much I was tempted to switch on the keyboards after not playing for 18 months. Maybe later .
Windows 10 installed and no problems with it. You just have to move with the times.
Having said that, I still use Windows XP on my Ham Radio computer as it runs loads of software without problems. Updating the OS is not necessary on this PC.
Not a bad vocal Jim and well done for the technical guitar playing which will no doubt improve with more practice. I often wish that I had been given a singing voice
I have already been ejected from 1 forum that disappeared overnight earlier this year. It is only now that my posts here have increased with always the fear that my comments might raise hackles somewhere and I would again be terminated. There will always be differences in opinions etc on all forums ...
This must have been written for the younger age group whose memory still functions well. In my early R & R days I remembered all the music we played. Now, I am unable to play anything from memory and must read the music for my entire repertoire. Thanks to my early piano lessons, I can still sigh...
Thanks for the update Mike and I fully support your policy. Even if the other forum had a reciprocal open policy, I would have no desire to see what he was up to.
