Re: Joining two pieces of music together

Hello Steve, There are all different levels of players on here and different ways to modulate. I find that the simplest way of changing key is to play the dominant seventh chord of the key I am changing into. eg, moving from C to G play a D7 and move into G I have made a short video moving round the...

Master Class

Firstly here is Roger playing a solo piece. He is a professional piano tuner and not a performer although he plays piano in church. RIZ8Uutvgj4 This is quite a long video but I find it fascinating. I love how Roger hears every chord differently and how they suggest particular riffs and phrases to hi...

Re: Playing by Ear ?

Hi, If I can hum the tune then the chances are that I will be able to play it, If not, it is trial and error to pick the correct intervals between notes and listen to hear if it sounds right. I have enough experience to have a good idea of what chords to choose to fit the melody. The first thing to ...

Re: Audacity

Hi Roy,
I don't use audacity, I use Cakewalk Music Creator 6, it was not expensive but you may wish to explore more free alternatives. Here is a link to a few of them.

Re: Simple /compound time

Hi Andy I think that is what I was saying,( I was messing about on my keyboard with a rhythm style 6/8 blues but I count it 12/8 so which is it ? ) Some people have been confusing the fact the the style says 6/8 and thought they were playing a tune in 6/8 when in fact the tune they were playing was ...

Re: Simple /compound time

Hi Andy, Of course what you say is absolutely correct, thanks for the more elaborate explanation, I should have said that although I was using a 6/8 style, the tune I was playing actually was in 12/8 Some of our members have thought because they are using a 6/8 style then that must be the key signat...

Simple /compound time

I was messing about on my keyboard with a rhythm style 6/8 blues but I count it 12/8 so which is it ? I have noticed, understandably so, that some say a tune is in 6/8 but I make it 12/8 Well, I figure both can be correct at times, I have seen "The house of the Rising Sun" written in 2/4, ...

Steve Vai

Last year, for his birthday I took my eldest son to see Dweezil Zappa and band, this year we are going to see Steve Vai. Here is a video of him guesting with the band. The Guitar whizz is duelling with Dweezil. Steve Vai is the one playing the white Ibanez guitar. I am looking forward to the concert...

Re: Hammond XM-1 and Hammond XM1-C Organ MODULE.

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the offer to help, I am dreading trying to set it up. I never seem to get any midi stuff to work properly without experiencing an awful lot of grief in the process.
I have a feeling that I will be getting back to you on this at some point.
Cheers,
Brian.

Hammond XM-1 and Hammond XM1-C Organ MODULE.

On a previous post, I was swithering whether to trade in my Orla Ringway or add to it. I have decided to keep it. I will use it with virtual software plus I have also just bought from ebay, a Hammond XM-1 and Hammond XM1-C Organ MODULE. Below is a little demo. Sounds good to me, I hope I can set it ...

Organ Virtual software.

I wouldn't part with my EL 70 but I have been thinking of getting rid of my Orla Ringway for something older ha ha, like a GA3 for example but I am having second thoughts. Before I decide I wondered if anyone could tell me anything about connecting the Orla up to some kind of virtual organ software....

Interval Game

Anyone up for the game? Linking the first two notes of a well known tune as a means of remembering intervals. For example if I was asked to sing a perfect fourth, I would think of the first two notes of Away in a Manger. I hope to get a song for every interval ascending and descending. Anyone got an...

A very nice performance, well played. I am one of the seven Brian mentions, I quite often listen to a batch of posts at the same time and get round to commenting later on.
More often than not, I have another listen and then post comments. :D :D :D

Re: Hark the Herald Angels Sing

John and Brian,
Glad you enjoyed it. With these organ settings, there is a slight delay in the response especially in the bass pedals, it is to simulate the air reaching the pipes, very realistic.
