Re: Can you play your keyboard too loudly?

Peter, I have found a YouTube recording of your Requiem by Christopher Rouse. Christopher Rouse: Requiem (2002) b-_CtR9Fxxg It lasts for 1hr 31mins and is pretty rousing .. so watch those volumes! Peter ... Thanks for putting together this fascinating synopsis on 'noise' and 'music'. Must admit, I h...

Re: Can you play your keyboard too loudly?

Den ... I like that story! Peter ... You were talking about a volume limiter. I had a tape recorder once that had 'automatic volume' ie. the quiet bits were made louder so you could hear them, and the very loud bits were toned down to make them quieter. What a disaster that was .. for a musician! W...

Re: Prayer

Hi Carloss, Your Yamaha PSR E433 keyboard has a very good piano sound. I did see you had recorded this on an iPad. I am wondering how your piano drifted between a left 'pan' and a right 'pan' (I listen with headphones on)? I had wondered if your keyboard was basically a piano, so I have looked it up...

Looking through the archives, I have come across this version too, an 'animated video' done by Rocco ( Roconi ). 0R78uJdDRSk This song was composed and sung by John Lennon in 1977 but only recorded as a 'home DEMO'. Re: Chord Progressions

Now here's one where the 'standard' of C - Am - Dm - G7 has been 'twisted' to create a very unusual and striking chord progression. Instead of: / C - Am - Dm - G7 / C - Am - Dm - G7 / we have: / C - Am - Abmaj7 - G7 / C - Am - Fm - G7 / .. or strictly speaking, as the piece is actually played in A ....

Re: Do you include a VOICE with your STYLE?

Brian, I do agree with your comment ... Using left hand voices is very much a personal choice, and used correctly they can certainly enhance a piece of music .. but sparingly. Re: Post VE Day

Hi Ken, Interesting melody for this hymn! I am aware that a hymn is not like a pop song, which has a specific melody to go with the words. Hymns are written, and composers put music to the words, so there can be several 'tunes' to a hymn. Who was the composer of this one? The below is the one we use...

Den, I find this a really interesting way of playing the piano, and it gives it a unique sound.
