Re: Hymns/Songs for 3/5/2020

tony, I quite agree with your comment that you can't get away with the odd wrong notes that would go unnoticed live. They may (and probably will) go unnoticed by an individual listener, but every time you watch it any mistakes will stick out like a sore thumb. I'm a believer that if it's worth doing...

Re: Chords and Harmony

More on chords and how they determine the character of a piece. This has cropped up after one of our Challenges, which for March 2020 was for us all to play the same piece of music .. Somewhere Over The Rainbow . First listen to what I have played (with the chords from the music .. for a change!). L...

Chords and Harmony

How a song sounds depends very much on the chords that are being played for it. Listen to the chords I have played for Blue Moon . At the start, I have used some 'conventional chords to play this tune. Then when I play the tune again after the chorus, I have played what you might call some 'upliftin...

Re: Hymns/Songs for 3/5/2020

Hi Tony,

How do the congregation get to hear you playing these? Do you have a Zoom going for the congregation on a Sunday?

Again, I am smitten by the sound of your Viscount Envoy 35FV organ (the first video).

Re: The Virtual Clavierorgan

Hi Tony,

Thanks for posting that. I looked on YouTube for Clavier Organ and found this piece, below. I am not normally a classical music fan, but this particular piece had me bowled over. So I am posting it here.

Hi Den, A boat trip is right up our street. We don't have to walk anywhere (much) when on a boat. Looks fun. Glad the commentator was giving his talk in English! Bronwyn and I have always had dogs (we collected our first two from the Isle of Wight at the end of our honeymoon) and our last three were a Schnauzer (Teddy - which we inherited from Bronwyn's Mum), a Westie called Ben, and finally a Westie called Cassie, who we got from Westie Rescue. Arthur ( abr250 ) has played and arranged the piece of music below. This is what I had to say about it: Really enjoyed that. What a super arrangement. Re: Hymns for the Sunday after Easter

Hi Tony, I enjoyed listening to those. As I think I have said before, I sang bass in a choir when at school in Kenya (they had a Electronic Organ there, not a Pipe Organ) .. and both my uncles were vicars, one in Langtrree (Nr. Torrington in Devon) and the other in Bexhill-on-Sea in Sussex, so joine...

Re: What have you been doing during this coronavirus lockdow

So what have Bronwyn and I been doing? Well, we are very keen on jigsaws and have done two. The first was 1,000 pieces and just a normal rectangular shape; and the other was 1,500 pieces and 'curved' at the top, which made it a lot more difficult. We nearly gave up as we couldn't seem to get it star...
