Re: Food, Fashion & Triple Fortissimo (fff)

Hi I'd forgotten I'd posted this! I'm hoping to use my 13 note pedalboard with my Roland digital piano (& new Yamaha ES keyboard) for some items in my concert next Saturday. The Yamaha doesn't have MIDI on DIN connectors, so I may end up using another keyboard for the sounds on the pedals if the...

Re: Food, Fashion & Triple Fortissimo (fff)

Hi I'll perhaps give it a try with my 13 note board when I eventually finish getting my study/music room/studio into some sort of order. (Major moving around of things to make space for the Cavendish to be used and to make room for the Nord C2D!) I've got a DIY-converted 30 note pedalboard on the No...

Re: TRX Tyros Organ System

Hi I've not got one - too expensive (and too far down my list of priorities) although they do look very interesting. I hear that you need to use the registration packs that the supplier sells to get it configured correctly (again - I've not tried). They can supply more sensible pedalboards than the ...

Re: Henry Farmer's Harmonium Tutor!

Hi Mike

It certainly looks interesting. I was fortunate back in the '60's in knowing a couple of people who really knew how to play reed organs - but even so, I'm mainly self-taught on them.

Thanks for this.

Re: A Very Handy Little Gadget - Mp3 Hardware Encoder/Decode

Hi

I find it easiest to record direct to a computer (WAV file). then edit & encode for mp3 if needed for publication on the web.

I rarely use the on-board recorders on my keyboards that have them.

Re: Converting You Tube clips to MP3

Hi Both sound interesting. I've used Real Player (the basic, free version) to download videos for use in church (legally!) and Format Factory to convert them to a format that our presentation software can recognize. Personally I'd be more interested in You Tube to WAV conversion to maintain quality ...

Re: Discovery Of A Few LP's In The Attic

Hi I've not got that many - but it is interesting to get nostalgic. Last year I was given some Wersi demo LPs (Mark Shakespeare for one). Eventually I'll get round to transferring them to my computer. Problem is finding the time - I'm working on remastering some archive recordings for the Electronic...

Re: NAMM 2013: Vibrato Sax Polycarbonate Saxophones

Hi

I bought my wife a plastic clarinet a year or two back - called a "Clarineo", it's in C and makes quite a reasonable sound.

my son has a plastic trombone - not heard that yet.

Re: Food, Fashion & Triple Fortissimo (fff)

Hi Pedal pianos, and before that, pedal Harpsichords & Clavichords, have been around a long time, but are relatively rare, used primarily for organ practice, although Schumann did write a set of pieces for pedal piano (these days normally played on organ though). There are 2 versions, the comple...
