Hi Leo, yes it's a great style - in fact, it looks like a super keyboard altogether :)

Would have been nice to know what the rest of the members think about it ... but alas - it seems it's not of any interest

Hi Brian,

The MRP is £1450 but most dealers seem to be selling them around the 1300 quid mark ... given it's a Yamaha with T5 technology, that seems to be great value for money .... for once

Yes it is a very nice little keyboard and quite a few people have pre ordered already. Of course it will never be a Tyros 5 but has many of the features on it as well as the added dance section and arrpegiators for those who like to produce that type of music.
The price is very good to and is a little lower than when the 950 was released. Much better now that it will be using the YEM system for loading extra voices and styles. Being able to load more than one pack will make a big difference. I would have liked to have seen two USB ports though as we have on Tyros.
Looking forward to getting mine.

Have Had my S970 for a couple of weeks and I am very pleased with it. I like the fact that we can now edit our drum tracks and replace the drum kit sounds with others from different kits. If you don't like the kick drum then you can change it. The voices sound much more mellow than on the 950.Has all Tyros 5 styles in it plus more Audio drums. Multi pads are now in sections in folders. Much easier to find. All in all a nice little keyboard.

PSR-Magic Ballad Heaven Demo PSR S970 by John Beesley. This is what he says about it:
Ballad Heaven brings you a collection of ready-made registrations for some of the greatest ballads of all time – capturing the essence of the original tracks. Ten favourite ballads have been given the PSR Magic treatment with 8 perfectly balanced registrations provided for each title. This means you can create your own spontaneous arrangements live by just selecting any of the registrations as you play.

Includes fully orchestrated registrations for: Careless Whisper, What A Wonderful World, Unchained Melody, Three Times A Lady, The Prayer, Everything I Do, The Wind Beneath My Wings, Feelings, The Lady In Red, The Power Of Love.

Even though they have been created for use with particular pieces you will find them to be a fabulous resource for using with a whole world of ballads.

It's all about the music. Yamaha AR 80 Player.
