Even better, that's not an E500. That's the MUCH better E550. :)

Dave Page bought this .... gonna use some part of the Leslie unit in the Isle of Wight X66 that he modified with the addition of midi and a Technics KN7000 ... Andy has more knowledge of this than I, maybe he can tell us more. The Leslie 750 I recently bought from Dave was part of the original X66 package at Sandown ... they have now added two static speaker cabinets in place of the 750.

I made a few suggestions for modifications to the X666, one of which was to add in the excellent string ensemble phasing board from the E550. This would allow the upper and lower orchestral voices to be routed through the ensemble effect, giving strings for example on the lower that could be mixed with the drawbars. I'm hoping he's going to add that, though the real icing on the cake for me would be variable speed motors on the X66's vibrato and celeste scanners. Maybe that's what the motors in the leslie unit are for?

I'll find out when I play the organ later in the year. :)

Leslie motors were indeed intended to drive the vibrato scanners leaving the original X66 motor (running too slow) for the slow scan celeste. The X666 now also has a Leslie sim built in. I'll be playing it on August 13th at the Wight Hotel, Sandown, Isle of Wight, around 7.30. I'm sure all will be welcome!

I hope to record this direct to digital recorder or laptop, and capture the video in full HD. Marrying the two things up later will no doubt take rather longer than the concert will last! :)

So that 99p bargain E550 will be serving me well, as the E550 did back in the late 1970s!
