It's nice and warm in there, a good place to sleep. These creatures won't bite you unless they feel threatened. You are too big to eat and they don't waste their venom for nothing. Having written that - - the brown snake and the king brown in Victoria are very territorial and will attack you if you venture into their territory. A nip from an Inland Tiapan and you are gone in 15 minutes!
Anyone trying to get into Australia illegally have problems. The seas around us have white pointer sharks that will attack anything. Passing them you have stone fish and blue ringed octopus and box jellyfish, all of which are venomous in the extreme. Salt water crocodiles abound along the beach. If you manage to negotiate that lot there are a multitude of others waiting for you. Snakes, spiders, scorpions, termites, ants to mention just a few.
Except for the 50km along the coast the land is generally desert, lack of water. It is so easy to get lost
So we are well protected from unwanted invaders.
I LOVE LIVING HERE!
Regards, Den.
