A Simple Brain Cell Work Out

Postby Abacus » 21 Aug 2013 09:58

There was a European organ player competition in the early 80s with the winner of the junior section coming from the UK. Picture below:

Questions:

1. What manufacture ran the competition?
2. Who was the player?
3. What are they doing now?

Hopefully the picture will make it easier than my previous brain teasers.

Hiya Bill,

I am going to have a 'stab' at this one :P

1. What manufacture ran the competition? Wersi (Wersi-Organ Youth Competition)
2. Who was the player? Mark Whale Living mostly in Germany nowadays, but I'm pretty sure he's originally from the West Midlands.
3. What are they doing now? Concert Organist and Freelance Demonstrator

As for the picture ... it looks nothing like Mark Whale
Oh well, here's hoping

I Googled Mark Whales and some of the videos of him do look like the picture of the kid. I bet you're correct Mike.

Hi Mike

You have the manufacturer and competition correct, however Mark Whale was in the senior section of the competition not the junior section. (And yes Mark Whale comes from Coventry)

Clue 1:

Now more behind the scenes

Well who would have thought this would be so difficult, however I will leave it another day or so and if nobody gets it I will post the article it comes from.

Clue 3:

The competition is from 1982/3 and he was in the under 15 section.

Till tomorrow, happy thinking

Something about the eyes say a young Martin Harris, now behind the scenes at Yamaha Global.
It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
