Sonny Bono Plays Hammond Organ .... Really?

Postby Mike Bracchi » 14 Nov 2014 15:48

Wotcha folks,

Well according to the 1967 album sleeve the artists playing the Hammond Organ on several records is Sonny Bono

Now .... I don't know for sure if it was the very same Sonny Bono of Sonny & Cher fame or not - so anyone knowing for sure either way can you let us know

There was one website I discovered this morning that had the albums in question listed in Sonny Bono's discography ... but a further half dozen sites had no mention of them :|

If it is the late Sonny Bono, I thought he got a great sound from his instrument, particularly the 'Nils Tibor' sound of Help Yourself

Enjoy .....

Too bad he didn't do one of their well known songs. Maybe the answer to your question is in one of Sonny and Cher's songs.
"It Ain't Me Babe" :D

Here's an interesting article. It looks like maybe Sonny may have played the accordion at one time. Not a stretch to play the organ. That's how my father did it.
