Good luck with the fish. My father in law (Alf) breeds Koi, he has some huge fish. A couple of years back we bought the contents of a pond as the owner was scared his little boy may fall in. We got about 12 fish and a hoard of equipment, filters, pumps, lights etc. Alf sold these separately and they easily paid for the fish. Make sure you quarantine them before putting them in your pond, they can carry all sorts. It took me ages to net a big black one in this pond. Turned out it was an 8 pound carp from a local fishery. It still had battle scars from fighting with other fish. We put it back where it belonged.

Turns out the three fish I bought were not Koi!. When we netted them from a filthy black pond I was a bit suspicious of the two smaller ones. My son identified them as Golden Orfe. Both about 16/18" long. The other one he thinks is a Ghost Carp. i.e a cross between a Koi and a common carp. This fish is huge and was already in the pond when the new owners bought the house 14 years ago. We are both experienced anglers and I estimated the weight of the fish as 12/14 lbs. Son insists it is 18/20. It dwarves my two big Koi. I am really pleased with the purchases. Still looking for more. .. Fred
