Local Musicians

Postby papadeedee » 02 Jun 2015 17:24

Hi All,
There are always some great musicians around who play locally. I know that the lads in the North East probably know of some, Andy definitely will know of some and so will Mike. There is Patty from New York where there no doubt is an abundance of local talent. There will be loads of other members from around the UK and indeed the globe who will have a favourite local musician.

Go on fellow forumites, post a video and showcase some of your local talent.( Please note, anyone I mentioned by name shouldn't feel under any pressure to post if they don't wish to.)
I'll kick it off with this video of Alan McPike who I have heard live a few times in a pub in Glasgow (Scotland) You can't see his feet but he is playing bass pedals.

Brian Hi,

Alan is an awesome keyboardist - his relaxed style of playing three keyboards with that thingy he taps out drum solos on with end result sounding like a big band blows me away every time I listen to him :D

He also makes some of the very best backing tracks on the planet - there are quite a few of Alan's video posted on the forum but I have included this one as one of my favourites

Regards,

Mike

Hi Mike,
I actually wasn't sure if he was known throughout the UK but he is a great player. He used to have a residency on a Saturday Afternoon in the Alpen Lodge Pub in Glasgow. I went a few times but it was always absolutely chock-a-block. Punters in the pub would get up and sing and his accompaniment was always brilliant.
I would have gone more often but it was truly jam packed solid. You couldn't get near the bar or get through to the toilets,
