Karl Denver did a version but not a patch on Ladysmith Black Mambazo in my opinion.

Keith

Wotcha Brian, John and Keith,

Now to me, there is no comparison whatsoever - it's sorta like a Ford Focus trying to 'stack-up against' a Koenigsegg Agera R ... with the Focus being Ladysmith Black Mambazo!

Karl Denver every-time for me :D

Hi Keith and Mike,
I Think these are two entirely different takes and can't really be compared. Karl Denver's vocals are unique and outstanding. On the other hand, I think Ladysmith's is probably more authentic as it is an African tune.
I actually lived in South Africa for about five years, two in Durban and three in Zululand. I remember well when I lived in the centre of Durban, from time to time, a native African would sing up at my window (begging basically) and you would throw some change down to him. Some of the voices were unbelievably good.
Memories,
