Alan Haven Has Passed Away - Age 80

Postby Mike Bracchi » 13 Jan 2016 21:14

Alan Haven passed away on Thursday last - he had been suffering with cancer for over a year.

I had the pleasure of working with Alan on many occasions in the past - he was a real gentleman and an extremely talented organist - he will be sorely missed by his family, many friends and fans - RIP Alan.

2016 looks like carrying on where 2015 left off, with the world losing yet more 'greats', in many different genres of music. Lemmy, David Bowie, and now Alan Haven. And we're only a couple of weeks in.

I only met him a few brief times, he came across to me as a very nice guy. I sadly never got the chance to hear him live. But his recordings have given me a lot of enjoyment over the past 40 years or so.

RIP Alan.
It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

I have only listened to his music that has been posted on youtube and he was a hugely talented player who will be sadly missed.

Always thought Alan made the old type of Lowrey come alive like no one else.
