Does anyone have any information about possible concerts on the Tower Wurlitzer? I know it is played for dancing but I would like to go to a proper concert. I can't find any info on their website. .. Fred

Fred,

At the moment the Ticketmaster website says:

We currently do not have any tickets on-sale for The Mighty Wurlitzer Organ Concert.
Click "Get Ticket Alerts" to be emailed before tickets go on sale.

.. and underneath there is a button for you click to set up an email alert so you get notification of any concerts before the tickets go on sale to the public.

In the meantime you can have your own Blackpool Tower Wurlitzer concert at home by clicking on this LINK (do a right-click and open it up in a New Tab) to hear Phil Kelsall playing on 14th June 2017 .. The Ballroom's resident organist puts the instrument through it's paces. This is NOT a YouTube video.

http://www.classicfm.com/discover-music ... ool-tower/

You don't have to Register or Sign in. Just scroll down a bit and click on the video picture. Sorry, you'll have to put up with the adverts first. After Phil starts playing (but not while the advert is on), if you hover over the picture near the bottom, you will see a 'Pause' .. but more importantly, on the far right is a 'square' which, if you click on it, will bring it up to Full Screen. To get back to normal screen, press the Esc on your keyboard (top left). Do not click the Pause or you will lose the concert and not be able to get back to it. You would have to 'refresh' the page.

The video is very, very good, showing Phil jumping about from one manual to another.

Then underneath that one there is another with Phil playing .. Songs from the shows medley.

I am going to see/hear Phil Kelsall at 'Pipes in the Peaks' in April. It will be my third visit to this wonderful venue. Another visit scheduled for March.

Thanks for the information. I will investigate. .. Fred

Hi Fred

Can't believe the lack of information regarding the Tower Organ Concerts. One site shows there is a Wurlitzer concert on September 9th but no more information.

I think you'll have to ring them and hopefully there will be a human being at the other end of the phone.

Good luck.

Fred,

There is a Wurlitzer concert advertised here, with Phil Kelsall and David Gray on 27th August from 7pm to 10pm, price £15 per person.

https://www.theblackpooltower.com/events/organ-concert/

And there appear to be loads of concerts on this webpage, from 10am to 5pm:

https://www.theblackpooltower.com/attra ... -ballroom/

At the top of this page you will see the words OPENING TIMES. Click on that.

Click on the words "Organists" to find out which organist is playing at which time.

And over on the right, if you click on THE ORGANISTS it will drop you down to the page where each organist playing is given a review.
