Lowrey Closure January 2019 (Official)

Postby Mike Bracchi » 12 Oct 2018 10:32

How Lowrey have managed to hang on for so long with their overpriced musical christmas trees has always been a wonder to me ... nonetheless, I'm sad to hear that a former great name in the organ world is about to disappear; Lowrey has been my favourite brand from my days at boarding school when the college decided to upgrade it's 2 manual reed organ to a Lowrey Berkshire - the 'Kawai Lowreys' were never a hit with me, but I'm aware that they do have a present day following who are going to miss them greatly ....

The X-Man from Kawai (Andy Gilbert) posted the following on the Vintage Organ Group ... makes it official I guess!

And finally, my favourite video of a 'modern' Lowrey ....

And now the 'vintage' Lowrey sound ....

Been with Lowrey since 2007.
Before that Roland Atelier.
Before that a mix of Yamaha & Technics.

It had to come with the enthusiast becoming older and no one coming up behind.
