Problem!

This morning I edited a video in Movie Maker intending to post it on the Forum via You-tube as usual. I keep bring informed by You-tube that my internet connection is faulty but I have run the troubleshooter and I am sending and receiving e.mails O.K. I re-booted the P.C. and disconnected my router from the power supply for around 15/20 minutes but I am still getting the same result. Any ideas? .. Fred

Hi Fred,
Bearing in mind that I know next to nothing about computers, when I experience problems I sometimes take it back
to a time when it was working correctly.
I don't know if it is appropriate for your problem, maybe worth a try.
Go into control panel, System and Security, find and fix problems.
On the very bottom left of the page, click on Recovery.
Open System restore, click next and select restore point.
and proceed.
On occasion, it comes back saying no changes have been made,
I then disable the firewall and antivirus and any other security that is running
and do it again.
It would be better if one of our computer savvy members could advise you but
the method I mentioned is very safe and shouldn't cause any problems.

Hi Fred,

If your posting onto this forum alright I would have thought that your internet connection is OK ?

Please make sure you are actually trying to upload to YouTube and not some spoof site, just be careful

Papadeedee, System restore was turned off. I wasn't aware of this so I have created a point but that won't help at the moment.

007. Movie Maker takes me directly to You-tube so I don't see a problem there.

Recently Google has been repeatedly informing me that my internet setting are out of date. Each time I click on the warning and put my password in the warning disappears. This morning I managed to change my password but the result is still the same. I have been on this since early this morning and made no progress.

You could try : reset google to original settings
click on the three dots top right directly underneath the X
click on settings
at the bottom of this page. click on show advanced settings
click on reset settings,
This procedure sets original defaults.

Found the 3 dots. Found settings and advanced settings. Can't find reset settings. .. Fred

This morning, after trying for a couple of weeks I managed to update my Google details. I also deleted Lavasoft and re-installed Windows Defender. YouTube still won't accept the video from Moviemaker. Keeps telling me my network is at fault. I wasn't aware I had a network as I only have one P.C. ............. signed ............... Baffled of Nottingham.

Hi Fred,

Why not save you video in moviemaker for youtube and the try and upload it directly from youtube
and miss uploading directly from moviemaker all together, thats the way I do it

Funnily enough that is what I have just done. I didn't know until about an hour ago there was an alternative way to do it. Let's see if it works and thanks again to both of you for your ongoing assistance. .. Fred

I would uninstall chrome and then reinstall it
You may not want that as I know you have found another way to post videos.
There is also Bing and Firefox of course,
