Bitter Sweet Symphony

Postby Brian007 » 04 Jun 2018 15:56

Hi ALL,

Here is a classic song from 1997/98 written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and recorded by The Verb, its nearly 5 minutes long, which is great for a vocal track but way to long for a instrumental version so I cut it down to 3 minutes long. This is my first venture into an Orchestral type tune so it was interesting.

A complicated piece as there are loads of contra melodies going on.

Not my sort of music Brian but you are right about it being complex. You probably needed both hands to play it. .. Fred

Hi Fred,

Thanks for listening and commenting, I agree its probably not everyone's cup of tea, its whats called Brit Pop, apparently
I played it as I have never done an true orchestral tune before and I like the Riff that runs throughout it

All the best, Brian007

Hi Brian,

Wow! Love that! Great sounding 'mellow piano', and the mouth organ is something else. How did you manage the vibrato for it? Movement of the tongue? Or just tapping the mouth organ at it's end? Anyway, it's very effective. Love the sound of the strings too. You've certainly been having fun with this one!

Hi Hugh,

The Harmonica on the Korg is very responsive to pressure applied to the keys so by simply applying more pressure you can increase or decrease the vibrato I love the Riff that runs through the tune, there are 3 contra melodies running at the same time which gives it its full sound.
