Never Can Say Goodbye

Postby Brian007 » 24 Jun 2018 11:05

Hi ALL,

"Never Can Say Goodbye" is a song written by Clifton Davis and originally recorded by The Jackson 5. The song was originally written and intended for the Supremes to record; however Motown decided the song would be better for the Jackson 5. Released as a single in 1971, it was one of the group's most successful songs. The song has been covered numerous times, most notably in 1974 by disco diva Gloria Gaynor and in 1987 by British pop group The Communards.

The style for this number is called "House" @132bpm its a Korg style on my Pa700, the main voice is Brass Expression on the Korg and the synth voice is Pop Synth from my Yamaha MX Synth, Only a couple of verses of this as it gets pretty repetitive after that, this arrangement is based on the The Communards. version

Hi Brian,

Sounds great! Like the bit of 'wha-wha' in the background! Nice brassy sound, and that's a great beat. You seem to be getting into things you can do with your new set-up.

And thanks for the bit of history about this song.

Hugh
