Musicmakers club 6/7

Postby JohnT » 07 Jul 2015 06:54

Good morning everyone. Just an update regarding last night the theme was Jazz/Dixie. There were twelve members present bringing three keyboards. Eight of the members played a wide range of tunes with different styles. I give a brief flavour of the evenings entertainment.
JohnT All of me and when I'm 64
George. Summertime and five foot two
Olive. In the mood and when the saints. We also sang along to bless them all. Very enjoyable.
Billy(golfer) There goes that song again and cool cool of the evening.
JonD I love Paris and Stand by your man.
Lyn. Misty, Honeysuckle Rose and The Entertainer.
Bobby. Just in time, pick yourself up and Come fly with me.
Mikeg. Thanks Mike for singing a short medley Ain't misbehaving, Birth of the blues, A new version of Sit right down and send myself an E-MAIL. And a great jazz version of the Old Rugged Cross.

Thanks to everyone who attended and making it a successful night.

The next night is Monday 13/7 I will bring my Tyros 4 . Hope to see you all there John

Hi Leo. Yes we do enjoy ourselves we have about twenty members although all don't play on the evening. They are a little nervous. However we do all get nervous and if we make mistakes we blame it on dampness in the keyboard. I have not heard of other groups but there maybe others around the country. We have some good players who have played in various clubs in the area and they are always nice to listen too. Thank you for taking an interest. I put up a few tunes that members play just to jog memories of ones we may have forgotten. I will try and get a short video of members playing and try to put it on this site. All the best. John
