As a youngster, Grieg's Piano Concerto was one of the first pieces of Classical Music I instantly fell in love with and just had to go out and purchase a recording of it (no YouTube in those days!). The vinyl record I bought was in mono, and it was the expression, the intonations and pauses in the recording that I was really taken with. I have since tried to find a stereo version of this, but have never liked any of the ones I have heard, probably because the tempo and pauses etc. were not the same as that record I had bought and had listened to so many times. Until now ...
