Hi ALL,

I read this on another forum about the EQ setting for the Genos, so I tried these setting on my Korg Pa700 and there is a marked improvement
in the over all sound , so if you are lucky enough to have Genos, may be worth giving these a try,

Brian,

At the end of the day its what you hear that makes a musical product 'good' or just 'average'. I would never buy a keyboard of organ without listening to it first! It's no good going by the 'written' specification as when you get it home and listen to it, it may not come up to what you were expecting. So being able to 'Equalise' your keyboard in this way (ie. to 'balance' the sounds to what you like to hear) is paramount, to my way of thinking. This is what your LINK has to say about all this:
Hello! We thought we would share with you our EQ settings for Genos.
As with all Yamaha products, the keyboards arrive from the factory with a FLAT EQ.
EQ is like the bass and treble control of your old Stereo, and the more you adjust, the warmer or brighter sound you get.
So, we would like to give you the EQ setting that we use, and we find this works brilliantly through big and small speakers, as well as headphones.

So if you have a Genos, check this out!

Hugh

Personally I find these settings a bit over the top. I do prefer to use the Genos settings Loud and use very little compression.
At the end of the day it depends on what type of music you play.

Hi Eileen,

Must be honest I tried those settings on my Korg, and I found it a improvement in that the guitars sounded more alive
but in this case beauty is in the ear of the beholder.

Hi Brian
I've just come across this posting for EQ settings. I gave it a go and I'm pleasantly surprised, it sounds punchier and more rounded. It is certainly worth it.

Hi George,

That's exactly what I found and I don't have a Genos, I used those setting on my Korg PA700 and it certainly brought it alive
well worth the try regardless of whatever keyboard you have I reckon.
