Maybe we use these 'half tones' more often than we think! After all, there are instruments that are not specifically tuned to 'Equal Temperament' and theoretically you could play any 'in-between' notes you wanted to. Like with the violin above, and the trombone. And, of course, this includes the voice. Take note of this video, below, where he talks about the Beatles song "Yesterday".
