Hi Dave,

That Clarinet on the Tyros 5 is just to die for. Nice vocal. How do you choose the key to play a song in? Do you choose a key to suit your voice, or play from the music sheet in the key it's written in and have to adjust your voice accordingly?

I once accompanied a lady singer at a Charity Concert we did in Dundee (in 1965). She was singing one of the 'Pop songs' of the day, and I was to accompany her on the piano. No time to practice beforehand and she gave me the sheet music saying could I please play it four semitones lower as she couldn't reach the top notes in the key it was written in. So I frantically had to transpose the chords as I was going along. At least I was only playing an accompaniment and not having to play the tune so we got through it all right. Just as well I 'play by ear' and the chords were not that difficult.
