I had never heard of Ketron until last month when we had Ian Griffin playing for our Organ and Keyboard Club. He had a set-up of Ketron Keyboards with bass pedals, and what he is known for is asking for 'requests', and then putting these together for the whole of the second half of the program. I wasn't sure how this would turn out, but he was brilliant!

I have found a couple of YouTube videos of him playing the Ketron. He actually played the ones in this clip at our concert. Notice the 'Rake'' he does on the lower keyboard at 1.22min (or Brian's 'Glissando' .. Ref: viewtopic.php?f=323&t=5727).

True Love Ways; Doctor Zhivago; Stranger On The Shore

Cavatina

This next one is not the best quality of recording, but it does give you an idea of what the Ketron can do (and what Ian can do with the 'requests' he gets to play).

Requests Medley

One of our club Members has a Ketron, and he says the 'Strings' on the Ketron are wonderful, and many of the other voices are very good too.

Hi Hugh,

Certainly a nice sound to it, and in the top video he's playing my favorite tune True Love Ways,

Playing Cavatina he makes it look so easy ? I must be doing it the hard way

The request song on the video were also very good , obviously good at playing and arranging on the fly
a very gifted player
