Highland Cathedral

Highland Cathedral

Postby MichaelW » 03 Sep 2018 15:49

Hi all,

this melody was composed by german musicians Ulrich Roever and Michael Korb in 1982 for a highland games held in Germany. I really didn't know that, though I always liked this melody very much.

This shot was my first attempt with the Celtic Pack for the Tyros 5. The Drums are played via multipad and a self made style. Please excuse the video, I did not use a camera or a video editor until 2015, so there are a few photographs to illustrate the music only .

Best regards - Michael

I'm playing on a Yamaha Genos and on a Roland V-Accordion.

Hi Michael,

What can I say? First the 'drum' intro; then the bagpipes coming in. All matched up perfectly with the video. I don't normally like 'bagpipes', but I think that is because I don't like the 'drone' .. it has no harmony! But you didn't do that, and your 'bagpipes' were a very pleasant sound to listen to. Nice bit of contrast with the 'brass' in the middle too.

Hi Michael

An excellent recording. I can’t believe that was not a real band, but a keyboard.

Well played.
