A place to 'doodle' on your keyboard/organ.

Postby barwonfan » 04 Nov 2023 04:36

Most people doodle with pencil and paper. One of my great pleasures is placing my sheet music aside, and trying to play a song by ear. Sometimes, my mucking around results in a something pleasing to my ear. It is quite often involved in an unplanned change of key in a song; or maybe, I launch into a totally different song, using the same style and even a different tempo. Thus, I end up with a medley.

For members like me, who have neither the ability, patience or time to produce a polished performance, to have somewhere to post one's efforts seems a good idea. And this is where to put it. Click on POSTREPLY and let us listen to anything you have been experimenting with.

Spot on ! Ken.
I think the lyrics go--" Oh where tell me where has my Highland laddie gone
He's gone to bonnie Scotland" and I can't remember the rest.
I am working on another Doodle. I'm finding it a bit hard to play. It is called "The Lost Chord"
I'm hoping that one of our members will have a crack at playing it , and posting it in Instrumentals. J.T.

Hi John. Think the Bluebells of Scotland. Not sure about the second sounds a bit like Puff the magic dragon. John
