Pitch Bend, Glide & Slide

Postby Hugh-AR » 12 Aug 2019 21:21

Pitch Bend, Glide & Slide involves the note 'changing pitch' while it is being played. This can involve the use of a foot-switch, or a dedicated 'wheel' to accomplish this.

In the video above he uses the same wheel to effect Modulation (ie. vibrato). On my AR I don't have a 'wheel' to do any of this, but use a foot-switch for the Glide; and can set my voices up with Vibrato Delay ie. the vibrato kicks in after a set time (which I set), so fast notes would have no vibrato applied .. and then the vibrato takes effect when the note is held. I reckon this has the same effect as in the video above, with no need to use one's left hand to do it.

And the way my 'glide' works with the foot-switch is completely different to what he is doing above. When I kick my foot-switch it always bends the note down, and then back up. You can alter the speed at which it does this. This makes for a completely different way of using the glide, which I will explain in a later post.
