Alot of people have an Ipad and never use them directly for music production or creation but there is alot of totally free apps that can help you along with your music

This one will try and find you the chords for any song for free as long as it is on Youtube and it will also give you the Tempo and display the fingering of the chords
for various instruments such as Guitar, Piano. The chords are limited to Major or Minor with no sevenths that I have seen anyway.
