Hi Everyone Not a bad turn out. There were nine present and we were spoilt for choice with keyboards. There were two Korg Pa 1000. A Yamaha 9000 pro and a Kn7000. Thanks to Les, Sue, GeorgeR, and JohnT. Seven of the members played. Billy,Les,JohnT, GeorgeR, GeorgeW, Bobby, Sue. Some nice James Bond themes and Elton John. Plus a lot of new tunes.
Sue provided help for George with his Korg and he seemed pleased with the performance of the new sounds and set up.
The next night is band night on Monday 17/6. Books four and five. See you there. John

Hi John,

I have been reading all the reports of your meetings, and am aware that there seem to be several makes of keyboard present. Does everyone play their own keyboard? And the obvious question, how easy is it to play somebody else's keyboard? How would you know what Styles are available for what you want to play? And what all the various buttons would do .. on a keyboard that is not your own?

The mind boggles!

Hugh

Hi Hugh. Thank you for taking a keen interest in our clubs. Members who are fit enough to bring keyboards do so such as myself, Harry, Les, GeorgeR etc. Some members cannot bring theirs because of size.
Members can play anyone’s keyboard they bring their USB or Sd cards which can fit the keyboards they play at home. If they wish to try other keyboards, members are there to give assistance with regard to sounds and styles. It appears to go well and members get to play other instruments if they wish.
Last Monday Sue and GeorgeR brought their Korg as George has just got one. She was able to give him extra sounds and styles and helped him set it up.
This seems to work well on our nights and help each other some members have played the clubs and have a vast knowledge.
Like all clubs members are getting older and numbers are declining but we will continue as long as we can.
Haven’t been able to do a post as keyboard room was full of furniture etc, as we have been painting and getting a new carpet. All posh. Thanks again. Keep up the good work. John

In spite of heavy rain and lots of standing water three of us visited Sutton in Ashfield Electronic Organ Society earlier this evening to hear John Bowdler and his venerable Technics GA3. Another concert up to his usual high standards. It was great news to have eight new members introduced during the evening. .. Fred
