Here's this week's selection (chosen by our minister) Plus a bonus track for Advent.

First up a lively worship song:-



I'd not played that for years! Next up is a Taize song as part of the intercessory prayers - the prayers will appear on screen



And we close with a relatively recent hymn (to a somewhat older tune) that sums up the message of the Christian Gospel:-



The bonus track: Nun Komm der Heiden Heiland BWV 599. A chorale prelude (fancy hymn introduction) by the great J.S. Bach. Such short pieces of music were commonly used in the Lutheran Churches of Germany around the time of Bach. Not my best ever performance of it!

Not sure what's happening next week as yet, but there will definitely be a carol service (hopefully a full-length video) & something for Christmas Day.

i have got rather overtired. It looks like the minister wants to use videos with people singing downloaded from YT etc. I have been campaigning about churches taking this sort of approach with pre-recorded stuff rather than live music (unless there is no live musician available), and he's been told that I will not participate in any service where he's going to do that. I understand his reasoning - I don't agree with it; so it looks like a fairly easy Christmas for me!

If I feel up to it I might record some carols & readings & put them up on YT - have to wait & see, my health isn't brilliant at present.

Hi Tony Enjoyed the piano in the first two. First one nice and lively. The organ was powerful in the third vaguely remember parts of the tune. The Bach piece was a change. Don’t over do your playing and other jobs. I agree prefer live music. Looking forward to your selection of carols. Keep safe and healthy. John

Rev Tony, as always a show of technique and good taste. What is the specification of the piano. It has a very acoustic sound. I'm a neophyte about electronic gadgets, what's that ... dorf feature connected to the keyboard?

Carloss, I've had the Korg piano for a number of years now. It's very basic, just a reasonable 88-note weighted keyboard & a handful of sounds that can only be used individually - no layers or splits. The spec is here: https://www.korg.com/us/products/digitalpianos/sp_170s/

The device you can see is a digital module of a 1970's string machine which I only bought a couple of weeks ago. Let the video run through to the credits & you can see the full name there.
