Hi!
In the 1920's my mother won a music degree playing piano and singing. She was pitch perfect. How this was achieved I will never know. She was the youngest of 14 children and from a working class family. Times were hard and she walked 5 miles each way to school every day. We lost dad when I was 4 with 2 younger siblings. Mother taught piano and scraped a living. Every day she played this piece on piano. What was remarkable was it was entirely from memory. No manuscript. We heard it so often we came to hate it.
When I eventually took up the organ and after she died I decided to play this in her memory. What a challenge that was. I liken it to Freddy Mercuries Bohemian Rhapsody as it has so many musical genres. Took me ages and needed my wifes help and patience turning pages etc.
Unfortunately I have lost my original recording on floppy disk but have the MP3. There is no way I could do it today. Played on the EL90 Yamaha organ. regards Ken S.
