O Holy Night

Postby abr250 » 06 Dec 2019 11:55

Hi

This is my entry to the Christmas Festive songs

O Holy Night

Inspired a little by hearing Salvationist Phil Cobb
Who is principal cornet player of the Salvation Army International Staff Band
and also Principal Trumpet Of the London Symphony Orchestra.

(of course my playing isn't anywhere near as good as Phil's ;))

Hope it will suffice.

Best wishes to All.

Hi there I have played from the age of 13 and all my music is played in a sort of dance tempo style. Have worked in nearly all the North East clubs over the years. That gave me a good grounding. Cheers.

Hi Arthur,

What a gorgeous piece to listen to! Liked the very lifelike trumpet; and what a super choir. And the cornet after the choir sounded great too. I was most interested to hear that arpeggio in your backing. Very taken with it. What Style was it you used for this? I have just played Louis Armstrong's "What A Wonderful World" and had to make my own 6/8 Style with an arpeggio for that, as the AR organ doesn't have one. Took me hours to do it!

I have found Phil Cobb playing this piece on YouTube.

Phil Cobb performs O Holy Night with the International Staff Band

No arpeggio backing in this of course!
