Gabriel's Oboe

"Gabriel's Oboe" is the main theme for the 1986 film The Mission. The theme was written by Italian composer Ennio Morricone. The theme has been called "unforgettable" and a "celebrated oboe melody". Vocalist Sarah Brightman convinced Morricone to allow her to set lyrics to the theme to create her own song, "Nella Fantasia".

This song was played by the central character (a priest) who had just climbed up the waterfall and was sitting on a rock at the top relaxing after his difficult climb. This is my version of it, played on my AR100 organ. If you listen carefully you can hear the water cascading down the waterfall.

Bev,

What a lovely sound you get from that organ! So beautifully played. You have made it 'unforgettable' for me.

A wonderful song. One of my all time favourites. Beautifully played by you on your Yamaha AR100. J.T.
