Days of Wine and Roses

Days of Wine and Roses. This is a song I recorded some years ago on Hugh's AR80 organ .. the only one I have ever recorded on an AR80.
The music itself is heart wrenching to listen to, probably because I have used violin and strings. And there are very sad words that just make this song a real 'weepie'.

The days of wine and roses laugh and run away like a child at play
Through the meadow land toward a closing door
A door marked "nevermore" that wasn't there before
The lonely night discloses just a passing breeze filled with memories
Of the golden smile that introduced me to
The days of wine and roses and you.

I like this version. Slightly different tempo but all the words are there.

The Daniel Leahy Quartet played "Days of Wine and Roses" with Lindsay Smith, vocalist.

Bobbo,

I have always liked the way you have played this piece!

Ron: As a Bass player I'm sure you will appreciate the bass the keyboard player is playing.

Comment from under the video:
That walking bass played by the keyboardist, is AMAZING.

And another comment, underneath:
Absolutely. His comping and walking bass holds this all together. Excellent playing.
