Hi Ken,
With a title like that, this is a good example of a piece that could never have been composed or played in a minor key. According to Wikipedia, in Western music, a minor chord "sounds darker than a major chord". So looking at it the other way, a major chord "sounds lighter than a minor chord". So "Joy to the World" should be full of 'major' chords (which it is).
